Titanic
Titanic is one of my most favorite movies of all time. I'll never forget leaving the theater after my first time literally stunned. Great acting, great special effects, and above all an incredible story |
 |
Ransom
Mel Gibson did an incredible job portraying self-made man Tom Mullen in Ransom. |

WarGames
WarGames has always been one of my favorite movies. One of the few movies that I've purchased on VHS tape, two versions of the LD, and finally on DVD. The movie concerns teenage hacker David (played by Matthew Broderick) who inadvertently hacks into the N.O.R.A.D. military computer and sets off a chain of events that might start WW3. The movie is fun, although supposedly set in Seattle, I didn't recognize much of the city. |

The Flight of the Phoenix
Flight of the Phoenix is a great movie. Now, if only we can get a decent DVD transfer. This movie deserves a much better treatment. |
 |
Dirty Dancing
Another film that can literally be viewed multiple times, without any loss. The dancing scenes are incredible, as Baby (Jennifer Grey) and Johnny (Patrick Swayze) have the "time of their life." The soundtrack CD's are great, as well, for just the music in the film. |

Kramer versus Kramer
Dustin Hoffman gives a knock-down performance in this tale of divorce and child custody in our current fractured society. Hoffman plays Ted Kramer, who overnight, must assume total parental responsibility for his 5 year old son when his wife suddenly leaves him. But he rises to the challenge and sacrifices his career, in order to keep his son. A great movie. |
 |
Rocky
I've always had a soft spot for this movie, the story of the down and out Rocky, "going the distance" to win the fight in spite of great odds against him. The music is haunting. |

sex, lies, and videotape
This movie introduced me to Peter Gallagher, a fine hunk of a man who actually has both acting and singing talent. (I wish that I could have seen him as Sky Masterson, in Guys and Dolls, on Broadway.) |

Presumed Innocent
A haunting story based on the novel by Scott Turow. I'd read the novel before I saw the movie, and this was one of the few times in which I felt the movie surpassed the book. Harrison Ford gives a constrained, emotionally taut performance in this fine thriller. |
